Why Kyrie Irving is the man.
In short.
I’ll say this now, Irving has the killer streak.
The Long Answer.
I like sports.
I like sports.
I like an underdog even more.
But what really entertains me is when a young buck decides
that he is indeed the alpha-dog.
Kyrie is an alpha-dog. He’ll get you 25 a night if he needs
to. He’ll dish out a double-double for the team not just to stuff the stats.
Give him the ball with the game on the line, and his demeanour screams ‘I got
this’.
But more importantly, he’s willing to break some guy’s
ankles if that fool disrespected the City of Cleveland and their Cavaliers.
Potential is easily analysed in sports, in basketball, a ‘great
motor’ is essential in any draft prospect.
Kyrie has promised he’ll finish his college education over the next couple of summers. That doesn’t surprise me. The kid is smart enough to appreciate the value of education.
Having said that, I’m a little worried he doesn’t know where he was born.
Potential however, is easily forgotten as the weight of
expectations becomes too much for the talented youngster to bear. Kyrie,
enamoured with these sudden expectations as the reigning Rookie of the Year and
the new King of Cleveland, instead of shying away from the hype, goes and does
what some might see as cocky and stupid.
He challenges the Black Mamba to one on one for charity.
Did anyone see this coming?
Irving has the killer streak. This is the same guy that gave
up the starting position for the Boomers for the next 20 years to only ‘have a
shot’ at making the US team. The thing is, he knows he’s that good. I guess
they say the chase is more enticing than the familiar.
Sidenote, in this day of the NBA, the league is the Players.
The guys synonymous with the highlight film and the flashy shoes (and
rappity-hippity-hop, did you think I could let that one go?) are what make fans
watch not only games but hours of YouTube highlights and buy jerseys. Kyrie’s
time will come.
I personally think that he makes all-star this year.
I personally think that he makes all-star this year.
He cares so much about making an impression on the league
that in frustration in practice he chucked an ‘Amare’ and broke his hand
slapping a padded wall. This year is going to be scary.
One thing to note however, I think he should stick to
basketball, this is atrocious:
You heard it here first. "Aussie Kyrie". Future MVP.
Kyrie Irving: He’s the Hero Cleveland deserves, and the one it has right now.
